If you thought that in order to see Christopher Columbus you would have to go to the history books of Noris Correa de Sanjur, we have news for you, he is in Panamá. Why? Don’t think he is a ghost, what is happening is that Cristobal Colon XX, duke of Veraguas, Marquis of Jamaica and duke of La Vega is visiting us because he would be placing the first stone of the virtual bridge that welcomes the  La Castilla del Oro which is being constructed in Penenome, Cocle. Oye!

The duke told us many things about his life, including that there are no physical traits left from his ascendant Columbus, because they don’t look alike. What do you think? But that’s not all, he is also an admiral.

His visit to Panama is no coincidence, he is the president of Foundation Castilla del Oro, a nonprofit organization created under the vision of the Panamanian businessman Richard Fifer-Carles, who’s aim is to project to the provinces of Coclé, Herrera, Colón, Los Santos and Veraguas, were the Castilla del Oro is located. These lands were promised to his great, great, great grandfather, but that promise was not kept thru by the Spanish Crown.

Among the advantages of this project is that they would place these areas in the European tourist map. Can you imagine! So if you want to meet a person of royalty, go this Friday to Penonome to see him up close.
