Current mining legislation is not consistent with the equity criteria

Panama’s mining legislation that actually governs this industrial activity in the country –highlights the July-August bimonthly bulletin “Guacamaya Verde”- is not consequent with an equitable balance concerning economic, social and social mobility o human development that allows, even more, to improve the life quality of the residents that live close to these projects.

For this reason, among other exposed criteria set out in the main opinion, Guacamaya Verde, states that in front of this reality, the government must update the legislation of the mining industry in general, with the purpose of putting it at the same level as the other countries of the region that develop these activities in their respective countries.

The newsletter “Guacamaya Verde”, published by the Petaquilla Gold S.A. Company, led by the businessman Richard Fifer-Carles, whose motto is “at the service of the public truth”, it’s also published in its website and can be found at www.mineriamoderna.com
